Engineered for Success: Cam Style Breaker

Posted July 10, 2020

At ONLINE, we value the relationships that we have built with our customers, from purchasing agents to machine technicians. Understanding how you approach maintenance helps us to make design decisions to reduce maintenance frequency or time requirements. The change to the cam style breaker is one such change.

In the original design, the movement of the pin caused wear which would affect the angle of the breaker plate. Over time, that could cause errors or stacking inefficiency. The new style uses a cam follower, essentially eliminating wear to the cam block caused by friction. Cost of maintenance to the station is also reduced, as often, only the cam follower is replaced, rather than the pivot bar and block.
